Been there, done that!  - No creativity what so ever, "writers cramp //Skrivkramp, much better in swedish)"! OR, from a teacher mode, students never-ending production of nonsense texts.

With Google's new tool, Word Count, you can have Word Count visible in the lower parts of your window as you type.

That could create some instant positive feedback and make the student aware that the project is actually moving forward!

First, teach yourself how to show, use it, then, teach students, if needed.

Short command =  CTRL + SHIFT + C

Long way? - Go to Tools, show Word Count.

Don't forget to tick the box for "Display word count while typing".
